Romexpo <IMG hspace=5 src="http://2005.informatia.ro/images/articles/sigle/romexpo.gif" align=left vspace=5>Expotim International Exhibition Organizations Co. is organizing two very important Exhibitions in Bucuresti . Between December 8- 10 , 2005 ; Expotim , organizing two simultaneous Exhibitions in Bucuresti, Capital of Romania , is aiming to get together the Turkish manufacturers with the improving trade potential of Romania.

In “Turkish Automotive and Spare parts Exhibition” organized by Expotim, products in the vehicle washing machines, interior design products, car bodies and equipments, rubber parts and spare parts, chromium auto accessories, tires and rims, mechanic and chassis elements, engine spare parts and elements, auto accessories and maintenance products, auto electricity and electronic equipments, auto modification, service and garage equipments groups will be presented to the visitors of the Exhibition .

Romania may be a shining star in automobile industry

The automobile production , being 65 thousand and 266 in 2002, has shown a 16 % increase and reached to 75 thousand 706 in 2003. According to 2002 information, there are 3 million 245.000 passenger cars being used. The commercial cars are determined as 584 thousand and 1500 according to 2002 information, there exists 7 people per car. According to these figures 142 automobiles is for o­ne thousand people, this figure is around 70 in developed countries.

The automotive by product industry Romania is the focus of international investments. Between the firms investing in Romania, Michelin , the French tire manufacturer, comes first. Michelin, entering the Romanian market in2001, has realized an investment of 25 million Euros. Siemens, as to the same market, has chosen to increase the number of software engineers it employs in Romania. The French spare part supplier Faureci is getting specialized o­n automobile chairs.
Diesel vehicle purchase is rising ...
Dacia, Daewoo and ARO are the leading local manufacturers of Romania in automobile industry. Renault is trying to strengthen its position by its enterprises in Romania. These efforts have affected the market share of Daewoo. Romanians, preferring to buy imported vehicles by leasing of 58 % , do not quite prefer leasing in domestic automobile purchasing.
The Romanians , prefer the imported vehicles in diesel vehicles thus the diesel percentage was 48.5 % in 2002 and raised to 57 % in 2003.

Commercial vehicles market in Romania

In commercial vehicles market, two import brands; Volvo and Iveco are leading. By the year 2003 , light commercial vehicles and heavy truck sales have increased by 24.2 % .Light commercial vehicles have an important part in commercial vehicle production. The said market is leaded by Dacia with 66 % . Another important brand in light commercial vehicle market is Fiat with 6.9 % .In trucks, Iveco is the leader with 43% as to 2003 figures. Turkey, executing a sales of 15 million dollars commercial vehicle to Romania in 2003, has a share of 12 % in light commercial vehicle market.

Imported automotive by product industry products

Romania’s import of automotive by product industry was realized as 442,3 million dollars in 2002. between the industry products that were imported, there are exterior wheels, the equipment parts of land vehicles, the equipments and parts of internal combustion piston engines, transmission shafts , crankshafts, bearing casing, teeth, electricity accumulators, diesel, semi- diesel engines and the vehicle bodies of land vehicles. The status of the roads, increases the demand for shock absorbers and automobile paints. Automobile cosmetic market is an improving sub sector group between this product group the most demanded products are window cleaning fluids, automobile perfumes and waxes.

Turkey’s place in Romania’s import

Turkish auto by product export to Romania in 2003 has been 26,7 million dollars. Exhaust silencer and pipes, security windows, transmission shafts, crank shafts, bearing casings, the parts and equipments of land vehicles, the wheels and their parts, equipment and accessories, the equipments and parts of inner combustion engines and the lightning, signal etc installation products, are the main product groups in Turkey’s export to Romania of by product industry the most imported spare parts are of German and French automobiles, whereas the most imported spare parts from Turkey are of Dacia automobiles.

Romania , expecting to be a member of EU in 2007, has an important commercial potential

With its population over 20 million Romania is trying to create a commercial potential with its steps towards the free market compliance process. Its improving economy and the changes in indicators, are promising momentum for the investors. Romania, being o­n the crossroads of important transit roads, its educated labor and improved infrastructure are among the other features to strengthen being an attractive country for the investors.

The figures of country trade upon 2004, show that the exports were 23,54 billion dollars and the imports were 28,43 billion dollars. Between the import partners, there are Italy with 19,6 % , Germany with 14,9 % , Russia with 8,3 % and France with 7,3 % . the Gross National Product has a level of 7.700 dollars. Romania, as to is geographical location, is a market to provide extension towards Central Europe, Baltics and even to Middle East countries. Besides, Romania, following Poland is the widest market in Middle and East Europe . Romania, the EU membership of which is expected in 2007, has efforts to form its legislations within AB perspectives and this is interpreted as a hopeful improvement.

Turkey - Romania trade is improving

“A Free Trade Agreement “ is signed with Romania, where 80 thousand Turkish citizens live. The commercial relations have a long history with Romania. After the year 2002, a giant step is taken in increasing g the volume of trade by removing the customs in the exchanging of all industrial products.

Turkey has the most volumed commercial and economic relation with Romania, of all the Balkan states. 80 thousand Turkish people live in Romania. Turkey is the fourth biggest country is Romania’s exports, following Italy, Germany and France. The political, cultural , social and economic familiarity of the two countries, coming from the history, has provided the commercial and economic relations between Turkey and Romania in recent years to have a positive condition . Besides, approximately six thousand Turkish capital investors, active in Romania , are an important advantage to ease the Turkey established companies to enter Romanian market.
